How to Make Flower Essence

Use a plain glass bowl and fill with pure water

Collect flowers and spread over the surface of the water completely covering it

Leave in full sunlight on a natural surface

The optimal time to make essences is early morning in spring or summertime on a cloudless day for 2-3 hours

Ensure flowers are in full bloom and undamaged

Strain the water through cheesecloth, linen or filter paper

Preserve in brandy, vodka or vinegar

Fill storage bottle with at least half of the preservative and top up with flower water

Give a good shake – This is the mother essence

Stock bottles take 3-7 drops from mother essence and add to bottle containing at least 50% preservative and topped up with water
