Deciduous tree up to 6m/20ft tall. Leaves alternate crinkled white hairs beneath, Flowers solitary five white petals with longer green sepals May – June. Fruit resembles a giant brown rosehip with the five tailed calyx protruding from the head of the fruit like a crown
