Habitat: Hedges, damp woods, borders, grassy places, waste ground
Description: 50-100cm/20-40in tall, Bristly erect branched stems. Leaves untoothed, narrow base oval to spear shape. Flowers bright blue spiralled and clustered April-August
Other Uses: Roots used as red dye
