Omen Fairies

Banshee - Irish

When they wail outside a house they are an omen of death

 

Bodach - Scottish

He climbs down chimneys and punishes naughty children giving them nightmares. He sometimes kidnaps them.

In some parts he is thought to be an omen of death

He appears as a little old man and can be deterred if salt is sprinkled by the fireplace.

 

Boggart - English

Other Names: Boggard, Bogart, Bogan

They are thought to be omens of death, possibly house fairies turned nasty

 

Dunters - English / Scottish Borders

They are spirits who haunt the peel towers

They are said to wear red caps

They whine and if the sound is heard it is said to be an omen of death

They maybe the victims of Picts or the sacrificial victims
