Lancashire Fairy Sightings

In the 18th century close to the Fairy Holes little men were seen dancing around piles of silver and gold

A midwife was taken to a cave here to preside over a fairy birth. The fairy father touched her eyes with a magic liquid so that she could see the fairies and paid her in gold. The midwife stole some of the magic liquid and when she used it she could see the fairies. One day she saw the Fairy Father at the market stealing apples, she spoke to him and he asked with which eye she could see the fairies. He touched the eye and she never saw the fairies again
