Fairies have been seen washing their clothes at this well. Their battledoor (an early mangle) could be heard up to a mile away.

Pudding Pie Hill, Sowerby

This is a prehistoric burial mound which is said to have been built by the fairies. Folklore has it that you can hear the fairies talking if you run around the hill nine times and stuck a knife into the top.
