Lincoln

Lincoln Imp, Lincoln Catherdral

This imp as with many fairy folk did not like the catherdral, and was sent it is said by the devil to cause trouble. However an angel appeared, the imp jumped on the pillar and started to throw stones at him. The angel turned the imp to stone and that is how he is too this day.

In another version of the tale their were two imps but one escaped the angel. Possible with the help of a witch who took him of on her broomstick and turned him into her black cat

It is also said the imp was blown there by the west wind

He image is now used by Lincoln Football Club and many businesses in the area

It is seen as a sign of good winning over bad
