Jade

The name is applied to two different types of mineral -Nephrite and Jadeite. Nephrite is a calcium magnesium silicate and Jadeite is a sodium aluminium silicate. Both types have monoclinic crystal systems

Description: Translucent.

Hardness: Nephrite 6 Jadeite 6.5-7

Found in: Nephrite: USA, New Zealand, China, Russia, Taiwan, Poland, India
Jadeite: Guatemala, Russia, USA, Japan

Properties: It has a calming effect bring a sense of serenity to a person. It eases negativity within a person.

It is very useful as a dream stone and is also a stone of protection.

Physically: kidneys, and skeletal systems

Astrological Signs: Aries, Gemini, Taurus & Libra

Other Notes: Its name originates from the Latin lapis nephrictis and the Spanish piedra de yjada, which means stone of the loin. This was misinterpreted into French as Pierre de jade

Primitive people used jade in order to make tools as it is a tough stone.
